What is mixed age Group ?

One of the most important aspects of a Montessori Classroom is the mixed age group.

Classrooms are grouped as follows:
Toddler :

Ages 18 months to 3 years
Primary :

Ages 3 to 6 years.
Lower elementary grade :

Grade 1 through 3
Children are caring individuals who love to help others, both younger and older.  The younger children watch the older one attentively, later they emulate the movements.  The older children enjoy being role models and are always ready to lend a helping hand.  As such, the students become teachers to their peers.
