ADMISSION
Dulles Montessori School is open to all children, regardless of race, creed, national and ethnic origin. They are accorded all the rights, privilege, program and activities made available to them.
Dulles Montessori School accept enrollment of children who have completed 21/2 year by September 30th of the academic school year. The application will be accepted throughout the year because a Montessori program is individualized, a child may begin at any time during the year. Factor such as age and sex are considered at the time of placement in a class to ensure a proper balance within each class. An interview with the parent is required prior to enrollment.
REGISTRATION PROCEDURE
ENROLLMENT The first step is to call to set up a time to visit the school. When you come to visit, we will give you an Application and a Parent Handbook. The Handbook contains a lot of information that you are required, by Social Services, to read before you sign a contract with the school. Application are accepted on an on-going basis. Admission is on a "first come, first served basis" and a waiting list is maintained for future opening.
- Please make an appointment to come visit the school. Observation time in the classroom is limited to thirty minutes. All observation are done without your child. After your observation, a meeting will be scheduled with the director to answer all your questions and provide you with additional information on our policy and program.
- You may be offered an application. Please send the completed application to the school with the application / enrollment fee of $150.00. This fee does not apply to tuition and is non- refundable.
- Once the office has received your application, we will contact you to make an appointment for your child to visit the classroom. This meeting is important in assessing whether the Montessori environment is appropriate for your child and to make sure there are no concern regarding your child’s readiness for our program.
- The school reserves the right to accept or reject this application and also to request the withdrawal of any child if this action is thought to be of benefit to the child or the school. Upon acceptance to the school, you will be offered a contract. Please return the signed contract to the school within 10 days in order to reserve a spot for your child in our program.
TUITION PAYMENT SCHEDULE Tuitions for the school year are to be paid in a ten month installment plan beginning on August 1st to May 1st . A one month tuition deposit is required by August 1st and will be applied as tuition for the month of June in a ten month installment contract
APPLICATION/ENROLLMENT FEE An application/enrollment fee of $150 is due with application for a new student. A reapplication/enrollment fee of $100.00 is due for a returning student.
ACTIVITY FEE A Material and Activity Fee of $175.00 is due on 1st September along with the September tuition.
LUNCH Lunch will not be provided to Half Day students. The Extended Day student, the Kindergarten student and the Full Day student will purchase lunch from the school.
LATE PAYMENT Tuition is paid in monthly installment due on the first of each month. After the 10th of the month, a $25 dollar late payment fee will be assessed.
Tuition will be prorated for any student enrolling during the school year. A prorated deposit will be required which will be used towards the June tuition payment. A written thirty day notice of your intention to withdraw your child is required by the school.
